New vase design

Silhouette and zentangle dandelions, with sgraffito doodle weeds, ok I need a better name for this hand painted porcelain vase. I’m working on it.

This is the start of another new range.

The inspiration for this vase came from being stuck at traffic lights, I happened to look out of the window and saw all these dandelion clocks along the grass verge. The grass was quite long and on further inspection I saw lots of other weeds in the tangle, so subtle but there if you look closely.

The next hand painted piece of porcelain will have another British wild flower as the feature design. I’m still working on a name for this collection but as I’m using a bit of artistic licence and painting ‘fantasy’ weeds, I’m thinking of a name inspired by ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ any thoughts would be appreciated.

There is such a lot of modern artwork with doodles and scrolls, zentangles, that I’m beginning to see this style as the new ‘Art Nouveau’

Contry lanes and hedgerows are full of wild flowers at this time of year, i just got in from a ride in the country and have lots of ideas for other designs in this series, ox eye daisies, harebells, ragged robin, ferns, cow parsley, and more.
