Slip casting

I’ve had a fun filled weekend in the studio with my friend, we did some slip casting amongst other things. I have acquired quite a selection of moulds so we thought we’d get some slip and try them out.

Now it’s a waiting game, that’s one thing with most kiln fired art techniques, you have to be patient. So every day I’m watching my pieces drying out, they must be bone dry before firing.

This is just an experiment to see how the process goes, I’m thinking of ‘pimping up ‘ some of the pieces as they are not to my taste, I’d rather they were plain, so I could use the surface as my painting canvas so call back later to find out what I decide to do with them
