The weather yesterday was rather dreary so even though I have such a lot to do I decided to give myself a day off, it turned into a bit of a duvet day, I watched a film, read up on photography techniques, then browsed a few holiday photo’s and dreamed of warm sunny days in Cornwall, messing about in rockpools to be precise.
My thoughts turned to barnacles, I found some amazing photo’s on the net, then as sharp as a hammer hitting a bell, inspiration struck me and out came the clay. As soon as I knew how I was going to form the initial shape I got carried away thinking of textures, then I got to thinking of protozoa and all their forms, so fantasy took hold of head and hands. I tried different textures, thoughts flooded my head, possibilities of how I’ll glaze these pieces, and maybe add some silver embellishments, but they will have to stand up to the firing process first. So here they are ready for the bisque firing, I’m making some ‘rockpools’ too, all will be revealed later. Who knows what’s to follow
