Wednesday’s texture talk- The Cornish seaside

Rockpools hold such a fascination for me, I can spend hours messing about  in them. And as a painter I had to try interpreting these textures. Painting textures, for me, is more mark making than brushwork, you need to find the right technique or tools to make the marks you feel express the textures best. At then end of the day painting is just creating an illusion of something.

So here are some of my inspirational photo’s Rockpools Collageand some painted experiments, made using all manner of tools including a peacock feather!
