Seeing the light

I had a walk up Dodd through the week, it may be small but it’s a lovely walk with amazing views over Bassenthwaite Keswick and Derwentwater. On this day it seemed to me that the walk was all about the light, and of course shade.

The landscape was so inspirational , it was a great day for aerial perspective, the moist air in the valleys meant that the recession was brilliant.

The walk started off through a wood, it was like a fairyland with mosses, ferns, toadstools with dewdrops sparkling in the dappled sunlight. P1360989I decided to play around with some mossy photos in my picture editor, these make me want to do some textile work.

Deep in the wood there were very dark places and other places where shafts of light came streaming through the trees throwing beautiful shadows.
