Vanilla Socks But Different Flavours.

If you are not familiar with the phrase ‘vanilla socks’ you could be forgiven in thinking I have flipped. I came across this term on a sock knitting forum, basically vanilla knitting is plain knitting. Now it makes sense, right?

I have been enjoying vanilla knitting recently, I used to think of stocking stitch as mindless knitting but now I think of it as meditative knitting, the rhythm you get into is very calming and often I feel I could fall asleep whilst knitting.

If you are following my blog you will know I have recently gotten into sock knitting, I am completely hooked. I love knitting with King Cole Zig Zag sock yarn, most of the socks here are knitted with Zig Zag yarn.

What has me hooked is each ball of yarn knits up differently, they are all different ‘flavours’ I love starting a new ball of yarn not knowing how the self pattern will come out. Since the start of the pandemic little things like this have given me great pleasure. 🙂

These are my most recently finished socks

This is what’s on my needles now, look how differently the pattern is working out.

Can a person have too many socks? I hope not. 😊

I got quite a lot of stock made for my shop last week but I haven’t managed to photograph it all yet. I will show you in my next post.
