Bespoke flattened bottle- a wedding momento

Hello and welcome to Kiln Fired Art blog. I’ve been really busy lately preparing for shows, galleries and building my new websites including www.kilnfiredart.co.uk

This is what I’ve been up to.

Yesterday I got a parcel in the post, a recently married couple would like a champagne bottle from their wedding slumped as a momento.

We discussed the options and they decided on a flat bottle with the label put back on , this is always tricky as the labels don’t always come off the bottle in a good enough state to go back on. Luckily they had managed to get the labels off themselves.

The bottle was kiln fired yesterday to slump it, if you would like to see how I do this process click here

This is the finished bottle once the labels have been stuck back on, it will be in the post to my customer tomorrow.

I’m waiting ’til tomorrow to put in in the post so I know the glue is dry.

I got an e-mail from my customer, this is what she said:

“I’ve received my bottle. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much for all your help.
Jane”

Another satisfied customer!

Lovely idea, but how would one get the labels off the bottles in one piece?
